Welcome to My Substack!!!
and so it begins...
What’s up, y’all. I’m so excited to be branching out and trying my hand at Substack. I’ve been a curious viewer for the majority of this year, going back and forth in a “will I, won’t I” tango. I guess this means the “will I” won out! Before I drop my first article, I wanted to share a little bit about me and my goal for this Substack, so here are ten I-tried-my-best-to-be-interesting facts about me and my Substack:
I’m one of those Jesus-loving gals and pretty darn proud of it.
I’m a history major at Liberty University Online, entering my senior year, which means most of the time I’m mentally in the past, so you can try your best to talk to me about the latest Tik-Tok trend, but I’m probably going to be like “what type of clock is this again?”
I’m also a part-time tour guide for a beautiful 120+ year old mansion turned into a museum. (Have I mentioned I really like history?)
I’m Southern down to my core, and my only regret is that my “accent” isn’t thicker.
I’m an author of, you guessed it, historical fiction, and I dabble in fantasy novels under a pen name, too.
I’m starting this substack to write historical articles because my family can only listen to the same historical story so many times before they can no longer pretend to be interested.
I’m hoping to write articles once a month, and if I have enough free time amongst all the other things I juggle, then maybe I’ll throw in a second “fun” post too!
My first series is going to cover all the important events of the Pacific Theater in World War II (which means, we’re going to be at this a while), or until I realize I need to talk about something that isn’t war-related.
I try my best to come to these topics with either a sense of humor or approach every topic in a simplified way, because even though history is important, it doesn’t mean it can’t be interesting too!
And I ran out of things to say so… this is my favorite emoji 😎.

Eek! Glad to see you're starting a Substack, Issabelle. (Okay, now I want to visit the museum you work at because that sounds so awesome!)
Oohh history! Cool!
